Boomers are GHS's most popular electric guitar string series. Made with a durable, great sounding nickel plated steel wrap on a hex core, Boomers will handle heavy metal, rock, country, blues, jazz, pop --- in short, whatever style you play will sound great with Boomers!
This set was formerly known as the Zakk Wylde Signature Series. Zakk changed endorsement companies so GHS repackaged these under the new name of Heavy Weights. They even kept the ZW in the part number (GBZW & GBZW-LO).
Heavy Weights have the EXTREMELY heavy bottom (.060 on this set & .070 on the GHZW-LO). If you and your ax can handle them, they are great for tuning down as low as C and playing those low notes that make everything just shake!
