Elixir offers two series in acoustic strings ---The original PolyWeb Coating and the NanoWebs. The PolyWebs were designed to have the 'broken in' tone of strings a few hours old. While many players prefer this, some expressed a desire for Elixir to develop strings with tone closer to 'out of the box'. This led to the development of the NanoWebs, which have an ultra-thin coating, a brighter sound, and do not feel as slick.
