Dean Markley precision wound FlatWound™ Bass strings are smooth sounding with an improved high end.The high end improvement is accomplished by cross winding the underlying wraps. While wound guitar strings exist of a core and a wrap wire, a bass string may have a core and several wrap wires in order to create the larger diameter string required for bass. The cross winding creates an improved presence on the strings, especially the A and E strings, which need it the most.
